TechLingo D-Day

Image
On 24 April (Wednesday), all of us woke up in the early morning and gather at the bus stop in front of kk8 at 7 a.m. Then, before going on bus, we have a rough head count and ask everyone to write down their name before boarding the bus. At 7.30 a.m. , we departed to SMKBDP. On the bus, again Jason has a short brief on what to do in the school afterwards. About  8.00 a.m. , we reach the school and start doing our assigned task. I have been assigned to Windows Reinstallation team to help the school to repair the spoiled laptops. We do whatever we can to save the laptops like factory reset, formatting the computer, upgrading the laptops to latest Windows definition of its version, installing software such as Netbeans, Microsoft Office, PyCharm, and Scratch 2.0 for the school laptops. Meanwhile, other teams are doing PC Assembly, Mural Drawing, facilitators and photographer. All of our members have taken up different roles and works togeth

I have been paid the rest payment to different companies for both TechLingo t-shirt and the bus rental fee. Also, keeping every record of transactions in an Excel file that is then published in Trello and Whatsapp group for every member to view. Link to the TechLingo Income & Expenditure file : https://1drv.ms/x/s!AnBUDf3FbaZ5ii3WPXh020MdIUT4 Currently, we are outstanding with a balance of RM 96.16. This is probably due to expected budget for the transportation is much more lower in the proposal, however, our team are not able to rent UM bus, which is cheaper because of we held our event on weekdays and University authority did not approve our request. (Reason: School needs the bus during weekdays for picking up UM students) Plan to Do Next : Collaborate with Dess to collect invoices and receipts from all of our members. Proceed with whoever want to claim money using for the project.

The workshop is just around the corner. Throughout this few weeks, I am busy paying deposits to the respective companies and keep a good book for our project account. One of the my positive characteristics is having teamwork with Dess and others departments for anything related to money. I have created an online Excel file that specified for our project income and expenditure and have shared the OneDrive link with Dess and all of our members in the Whatsapp group. Me and Dess are able to team up , easily edit and monitoring the flow of every single cent spent meanwhile other members can clearly see our expense. Respective link: https://1drv.ms/x/s!AnBUDf3FbaZ5iiuKGCcKKKQRow3a Also, I am good in communication, making sure with respective department   about the amount of deposits to be paid and paid them on time to the companies for both t-shirt and bus rental, ensuring our event is able to run smoothly. Besides, I also confirm with Shahku what to be prepared for my allocated t

Week 8 Progress (TREASURER)

On 6th of April, we have done collecting a total of RM 3450 from our 69 members. There are RM 1950 is being paid via online and RM 1500 is being paid in cash. Currently, we are working together with all department, waiting for the confirmation on things to be bought and paid. Then, we will start allocate money to every department (based on our expected budget in proposal) for various of expenses, e.g.  cost for printing flyer, poster and cost for transportation on 24th and 25th April to and forth the school and cost for printing t-shirt and etc. Also, working rapidly with Sponsorship department to confirm with what kind of sponsors we have, and calculating back the cost and how many money have we saved. Therefore, there will not be any mistake on allocation of money. (either less or more) 😉😉😉😉

Week 7 Progress (TREASURER)

I have collaborated with Dess to collect a payment of RM 50 for our social engagement event start 22nd March (Friday). We have provided two options for everyone to pay choose (either direct payment or online transfer). Dess took part in collecting RM 50 notes paid by our members. Meanwhile, I took part in collecting RM 50 via online banking. Also, it is our duty to remind whoever haven't paid in the group or directly message him/her. Through the process of collecting fee, I have learnt that coordination and co-operation is very crucial for a team to function well.  As the saying goes : " united we stand and divided we fall ."  To achieve a common goal, it is necessary for all people to work together. Most of our members are very cooperative. They had paid as fast as possible and definitely eased the treasurers' task. Our lecturer, Dr. Reza also lend a helping hand to students who  have any difficulties to pay the fee and help them out to pay first. Throughout the c
