Reflective Writing 2 and 3

During the workshop, the positive characteristic that I and Windows Reinstallation teams have are adaptable to the situation and we're boldly trying out possibilities to solve the problems.

Firstly, our problem is the chargers adapter provided by the school are not enough and due to having workshop, we have to prior distribution of the adapters to the workshop, ensuring the students can learn smoothly. However, we came out with the solution which is do the tasks on computer with battery that's not faulty first and let the charge till 100% while cleaning up the laptops, installing software and Windows update. Then, only we unplugged the adapters to laptops that which battery has spoiled and have to be plugged all the time and proceed with our tasks.

Also, we encounter laptops that have administrative lock. Therefore, we have searched online for method to unlock the laptops and immediately try out and successfully we unlock the laptops and proceed with our upgradation tasks.

The negative characteristic that I have are not knowing the actual conditions of the school laptops, how bad they are and not prepared with enough tools.(pendrive, software)

Due to our team do not have enough bootable hardisk or pendrive, we are not able to format all the laptops to Windows 10 as they are plenty of them and it takes about 3 to 4 hours for the upgrade and not yet calculated in time for installation needed software by the school. However, we did manage to do Windows 7 upgrade for the school laptops as this task does not require bootable pendrive, just copy the file into the particular laptop and start the program and it is done.

Also, we should foresee the laptops' problem with administrative lock and download the particular unlock software earlier so that we can finish the task earlier and effectively. Due to the problem stated above, most of the time during the morning session is used to find particular remedy to the problems and the task progress has been dragged and cause the Windows Reinstallation team are not able to finish the task on time and dragged a bit till 6.45 pm to finish mostly of our job. Part of the reason is also the hardware of the school laptops are not so compatible with fast installation  of software, so most of the time we have to wait for the computer to progress and finish up the task.

Positive characteristics that should be practiced are teamwork and well-prepared yourself before a task is given. We should have foresee the problems which are going to happen and having solution on solving the problem before we get started to a project or task. Teamwork between a team is highly needed such as everyone should bring their own pendrive or hardisk (the needed tool) before we going to do a task. A small contribution is able to change a lot more than we think.

Therefore, finishing job effectively can be actually done if we are well-prepared and have the gut to try out ways to fix things also important. When we are going to work in the future, adaptability to the situation is a must as things change in the world.

I truly think that a change in my attitude is required to embrace more positive characteristics. This is because I have to be more well-prepared in my life, so that I can be more successful. No matter I am a student who need to be prepared for academic performance or a employee that is well-prepared for the company perspective. Also, I have to be taken up more initiative to know the current situation so that my proposals or solutions are more up-to-date and effective so that I can do the job well despite the changes happen around us.

After the workshop, I realize the positive characteristic that TechLingo team have is having good commitment towards the task assigned. Although we might have mistakes here and there, we did our best to help out the schools and the students there in SMKBDP. We are kind and helpful.

 

Then, the negative characteristic that we have lack of financial knowledge and overbudgeting.

Also, many last minute changes and issues that lead to confusion and unwanted urgency.

Positive characteristics that should be practiced are be responsible in our life, when we have been assigned a task, we should have the initiative and commitment in finishing it well. Also, planning the future and draft out the job scope and deadline to complete the task is important. Also, when we involved in a project, while doing expected expenditure (budget) for the project proposal, we should survey the actual price that match with the product that we wish to produce. e.g. the t-shirt for TechLingo. Also, we always need to have Plan B so that last minute issues happen, we still able to handle it properly.

I truly think that a change in my attitude is required to embrace more positive characteristics. This is because I have to be more considerable to people and society around us, being willngly to give out to needy people and lending a helping hand to whoever they need, saving them out of hot soup within the range that is affordable. By not burdening others and yourself, it is everyone's responsibility to contribute back to the society since we have already taken a lot from the society.

Be grateful and always help out. 

Nonetheless, I should always practiced the good characteristics and implemented the soft skills that I have learnt throughout the preparation for TechLingo in the rest of my life so that I am able to suit myself in the industry field and get into the working environment. Therefore, I can be a successful man that is able to contribute to the society and my beloved country-Malaysia.

Always aware of our negative characteristics and behaviour, and try to improve ourselves through different approaches in order to be a more perfect version of ourselves, no matter what roles are we playing right now. 😄😄
